It is intended by the posting of this archive, to help spread the do it yourself ethic. for you, the viewer to make a shirt/patch/backpatch for you or your friend, or to spraypaint on the side of a building, etc... If you take a photo of a stencil you've used, say of a t-shirt you made and you post it on a message board, we ask you to please link to the site so that more people can get check out the free stencils too.

I wouldn't suggest you direct-link images to this site, since this site is very gratiously hosted by Matt from MattRunningNaked.com and if the server crashed because you seem to think that you want your MySpace to look cool by posting a couple of stencils, then no one can see the site. When that happens, I don't want to hear you complain that the site is down.

Don't sell or present these stencils as your own designs. None of these graphics are to be used for sale purposes. (See first paragraph) One notable instance was when these two kids from NY started putting these stencils for sale on their yahoo "distro". I ended up tracking down everything about them (addresses, screen names, phone numbers, high school home room teachers, fathers middle names, etc...) and leaving a persuasive message on their answering machine. The stencils were down within 12 hours. the eBay fraud department and I have a history as well, they know what to do when we point the finger in a specific direction. We have the timestamps for the stencil uploads as additional proof that these designs were here longer than a patch you want to sell for a couple of bucks, so don't try it. barter if anything else.

If any bands or anything have any problem with their band logo being on this site, give me an email. We'll chat it up. Most bands that have emailed me have done so to tell me how much they like the site and what we do here. examples include: the vandals, the casualties, man in black, cheap sex. to name a few.

*semi-long note: in the past statements made on the internet were misinterpreted to that we were saying that all of these designs are ours and ours alone. suggestions of that caliber are outrageous and incorrect. the majority of the stencils on this site were designed by an artist somewhere, whether it be a commission piece for a band or for whatever other purpose. for legal issues, we "claim" the stencilized graphics that we did not create from scratch as our own so that if anyone ever tries to sell patches to make a quick buck off this site, we can use it against them. the stencils on this site are free to all and uploaded to try and promote the do-it-yourself ethic, and selling them for profit is not part of the arrangement. some stencils were donated from other stencil-designers and we try to credit those designers whenever we can. over time and the world wide web, we lose track of who designed what. to those who have donated stencils (not just specifically requested but actually sent me a ready-to-use stencil), please send me a message with any specific info you'd like me to plug next to your stencil/s.
